L. paracasei subsp. paracasei CRL 431 induced an immunologic response that provided enhanced protection of cells from virus infections by 2 to 6 times more. Various clinical studies prove that Resiton (L. paracasei subsp. paracasei) helps body to fight against infections including flu and influenza viruses1,2,3.

Published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, April 29, 2015 researchers investigated the effect of the probiotic RESITON strain Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei on immune responses to influenza (flu) vaccination and respiratory symptoms involving 1,104 subjects in a randomized, double-blind, placebo¬-controlled, parallel-group study. Findings from the Chr. Hansen backed trail showed that RESITON (L. paracasei subsp. paracasei) can shorten the duration of common cold and influenza¬ like illnesses, and could lower the use of health care resources and reduce the use of antibiotics4.

Results from the study indicate that in cases of flu¬like illnesses, the number of sick days was reduced by 37.5%, five days in the group that consumed daily 1 billion live bacteria, compared to eight days in the placebo group. Mikkel Jungersen, scientific advisor for Human Health & Nutrition at Chr. Hansen said that, not only this is a clear benefit for individuals. It also indicates that products with this probiotic strain can have a significant impact on productivity in society4.
